Batman

So I really wanted Nikolas to dress up as something "traditional Halloween" like a skeleton or a vampire, etc, but when he saw the Batman costume, he fell in love! He literally wore his costume daily for a week before Halloween and was so proud that he got to wear it all day on Halloween. We had a fun day! We trick-or-treated down main street with Melissa and Lucy, ate lunch at Cristian's work, went to a Halloween carnival, trick-or-treated in Mom and Dad's neigborhood and visited Grandma Bonnie. Nikolas was in heaven and ate candy ALL day long. What the heck, Halloween only comes once a year!

Nikolas se enamoro de un disfraz de Batman. Se lo puso todos los dias por una semana antes de Halloween y no lo queria sacar ni un segundo el dia de Halloween. Hicimos actividades todo el dia y le dieron un monton de caramelos. Comio muchisimos dulces pero bueno, es una vez al ano, no?

A Perfect Day

Today was such a great day! Let me just tell you why. . .

First of all Nikolas slept in till 10:30! I slept till about 9:30 until my back sore and I decided to get up. We ate Multigrain Cheerios, stayed in our jammies and played until nap time at 1:00! We read lots of books before naptime and then Nikolas slept for 3 hours! (His naps usually run about an hour and a half). While he was napping I went to work (The Family Center) to do a few things and Claudia informed me that Cache School District is going to fund part of our program for another year! I still have a job! Yeah! Yes, I wish I could be a "real stay at home mom," but PAT is the closest thing to that. I am grateful! On the way home I listened to a caller on Dr. Laura. The caller asked Dr. Laura how she could be organized in her life. She went on to tell her that she is a stay at home mom who works on the side (while her daughter naps). ha ha ha. Dr Laura shouted, "YOU'RE NUTS". I laughed and felt relieved that it's ok to be "Nuts!" and that I will never be as organized as I'd like! When I got home Nikolas was still napping. Another miracle! We had the missionaries over for dinner and had yummy Argentine Asado!! What a blessing to have them in our home! My sisters Melissa and Kelsey came too (I owed them a dinner!) We even had Breyer's Rocky Road ice cream for dessert! After the missionaries left, we played Rock Band till bed time! Melissa sang, Kelsey on the drums and Cristian and I on the guitars! Nikolas danced! Oh, and I only had to change one poopie diaper! A perfect day!

Missing you

I am leaving tonight for a conference for WIC in Park City and have to leave my little guy at home with Cristian. This is the first time I have been apart from him over night and I am having a really hard time with it!! I'm sure the boys (Cristian and Nikolas) will have lots of fun doing boy things. Here are just a few random pictures of the cutest little boy in the world (in my eyes, anyways. I am a little biased I guess)!!!

This was Nikolas' lufa. . .he then decided to make it in to a hair bow and put it on all by himself! I left to get a towel and this is what I came back to. I laughed SO hard!

Floating

Last weekend we floated down the canal in Logan Canyon. It was super fun! The only bad part was that we left one car at the top and one at the bottom, but I accidentally left the keys to the car at the bottom in the car at the top. . . OOPS! So Cristian had to walk a mile and a half back up the canyon to get the car. Poor guy!

El fin de semana pasada flotamos el canal cerca de nuestra casa. Fue muy divertido! Lo unico malo fue que dejamos un auto abajo y otro arriba y me olvide la llave del auto que estaba abajo en el auto que quedo arriba. . .oops! Asi que Cristian tuvo que caminar 2 kilometros para buscar el auto y la lllave. Pobrecito!

A Day at the Zoo

We have been wanting to take Nikolas to Hoogle Zoo the whole summer because he loves animals so much. So, the friday before school started, ("our" last day of summer) we took Niko to see the animals. He had so much fun! EVERY animal was his favorite. He would get really excited about an animal and not want to leave it. . .until we got to the next one. He also loved the train and screamed when we had to get off. It was a fun day!

Hace rato que lo queremos llevar a Nikolas al zoologico por que le encantan los animales. Asi que el fin de semana antes que Cristian empezo de nuevo la facultad lo llevamos a Niko a ver los animales en el Zoologico de Salt Lake. Nos divertimos un monton! CADA animal que vimos era el favorito de Niko. No queria dejar un animal. . .hasta llegar al proximo. Tambien le gusto el tren y lloro a los gritos cuando tuvimos que bajar. Fue un dia espectacular!

Raspberry Days

As we do every year, we spent Raspberry Days at Marina and Jerry' s cabin in Beautiful Bear Lake. We boated, ate lots of yummy food, played cards, watched the fire works, had lots of great conversations, and I won back the "Dr Mario Title." Nikolas as always loved loved loved discovering a new place and being the center of EVERYONE'S attention. Kelsey was home visiting from Cali for the week. Nikolas didn't let her out of his sight for a second. He wanted to take her along on all of his adventures. She gladly accepted! Thanks Kels!

Como todos los anos, fuimos un fin de semana a la cabana de mis tios Marina y Jerry. A lado de su cabana hay un lago bien lindo donde jugamos y andamos en lancha. Comimos mucha comida muy rica, jugamos a las cartas y tuvimos lindas conversaciones. Nikolas le encanto descubrir "el lugar nuevo" y ser el centro de atencion de TODOS! Kelsey estaba de visita y Niko no la dejo escapar de su vista, ni por un segundo. El la queria llevar a todas sus adventuras y ella lo hizo contenta!

Cristian and Nikolas out for a swim! Isn't the water beautiful? Notice Niko's life jacket. . .Sonya used that when she was little. It's probably 30 years old (sorry Sonya - didn't mean to disclose your age). . .and it's made out of that foamy stuff that makes your teeth feel like they want to bite it.

On saturday a big storm came up and there were really big waves. So, Dad, Cristian, Dillon, and Jerry went out to secure the boats and ended up helping everyone else secure their boats too. They almost drowned! Well. . . not really, but we just kept seeing their heads as they bobbed over the waves. The storm didn't faze Nikolas, however. He and Kelsey played in the sand and shallow water for over an hour in his swim shirt and a swim diaper. P.S. I love the wind blown look for Niko and it wouldn't be compete without boogers. (Is that how you spell it?)

El sabado hubo una tormenta con unas olas gigantes. Mi papa, Cristian, Dillon, y mi tio fueron a asegurar las lanchas y ayudar a todos los otros tambien. Casi se hundieron! Bueno mentirita pero aveces no los podiamos ver por las olas. Nikolas ni se dio cuenta que hubo una tormenta. Jugo con Kelsey en la harena y el agua por mas que una hora en su camiseta de agua y panal no mas. Me encanto como se paraban sus pelos por el viento y la cara llena de moscos! lo amo a mi bebote!
